About Dr. Dans:

Dr. Dans is a native of California and attended UC Davis on a Regents Scholarship where he earned a B.S. in Biochemistry. He then obtained a scholarship to attend New York University School of Medicine to earn an M.D. and Ph.D. His Ph.D. research was performed at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and related to skin cancer, skin development and blistering diseases. Dr. Dans completed his internship in internal medicine at NYU and his residency in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine's Department of Dermatology, which was America's first Department of Dermatology and is the nation's highest ranked academic dermatology program (see link). Prior to practicing in San Francisco, Dr. Dans practiced dermatology in Marin County. Dr. Dans is a clinical instructor of dermatology at UCSF and supervises and teaches medical students and residents at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Dans has published numerous scientific and medical articles and book chapters related to skin disease and treatment.
