Appointments


 

Please read the following information before making your appointment.  When you are ready to make your appointment, click the “Book Appointment” link at the bottom of the page.

 

NOTE:  WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH ONLINE SCHEDULING ON CELL PHONES AND TABLETS.  PLEASE USE A DESKTOP OR LAPTOP COMPUTER ON FULL SCREEN MODE TO FIND AND BOOK AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS.

 

  • Both new and established patients can book appointments online by logging onto our patient portal.  If you are a new patient or do not yet have a patient portal account, you can sign up for a portal account by clicking “sign up” at the bottom right of the patient portal page that you will be directed to after you click the “Book Appointment” link below.

  • Once you are logged onto the patient portal, click “Appointments” or “Schedule Now.”  You can select follow-up or new patient appointments and which provider (Dr. Dans or Dr. Reisman) you would like to see.  If you need to make a laser or surgery appointment, please call us or send us an appointment request through the portal as these appointments cannot be booked online.

  • Before your appointment, please confirm that your insurance is active and that we (San Francisco Dermatology, Dr. Michael Dans or Dr. Mark Reisman) are in NETWORK with your insurance plan.  We are in network with most PPO group insurance plans.  We are not in network with individual or Covered California PPO plans.  If you have an HMO plan, such as Brown and Toland, make sure you have an up-to-date referral from your primary care physician.  We are no longer in network with Hills Physicians.  We do offer self-pay options. 

  • Please be aware that even if we are in network with your insurance company and you have valid insurance, if you have an annual deductible, you will be responsible for charges until you meet your deductible.  You can call your insurance company if you are not familiar with the terms of your policy.  

  • Please remember to bring your current insurance information and photo ID to your appointment.

  • Please bring either Visa or Mastercard (or your HSA card) for payment of co-pays as we do not accept cash, checks or American Express.  You can also pay your co-pay online through the patient portal.  Patients with outstanding deductibles must provide us with a credit card to keep on file for payment of balances after your claim is processed by your insurance company.

  • Your appointment time is the time you are scheduled to see the doctor, not the time you should arrive at the office, so please arrive at least 5 minutes early if you are a returning patient and at least 15 minutes early if you are a new patient for check-in procedures.

  • There is valet parking in our building on Mason Street between Post and Sutter.  Less expensive self-parking is available in the Union Square or Sutter Stockton garages and various other garages in the area.

  • If you are not able to make your scheduled appointment, please cancel at least 48 hours prior to your appointment or there will be a $75 cancellation fee.
